Established by Town Meeting in 1970, the Arlington Historical Commission is chartered under the town's by-laws to review and act upon any applications for building permits that involve exterior changes to historically or architecturally significant structures in Arlington.

What We Do

Administer Building Regulations

Administer Title VI, Article 6 of the town’s by-laws regarding historically or architecturally significant buildings.

Advise
and Educate

Provide guidance to property owners and educate townspeople on Arlington’s architectural landmarks.

Advocate Historic Preservation

Encourage appropriate maintenance and restoration of the town’s historic structures and open spaces.

The Whittemore-Robbins House

Participate in the management and maintenance of the Whittemore-Robbins House.
